The Literary Club of Berkeley City College is made up of a group of students who are so insanely in love with literature that they actually want to read more than their English classes require. They are mostly, but not all, English majors who are interested in developing a knowledge of background sources useful to anyone who wants to be an educated reader. The group currently meets every other Friday from 5-7 to informally discuss whatever is being read at the time (and whatever else is on people’s minds). Past selections have included Dante’s Inferno, Morrison’s Beloved, Ovid’s Metamorphoses, and Voltaire’s Candide.  In December, members of the club attended The Threepenny Opera, as performed by Berkeley’s Shotgun Players. For more information, please contact the club president, Ladon Radafshar at  ladan03@gmail.com  or the faculty advisor, Jenny Lowood.
